dropping dual hi-def DVD format support in order to back only Blu-Ray.
Computerworld reporting that week after Warner's announcement, sales
of HD DVD players dropped to 1,758, from 14,558 the previous week. In
contrast, consumers bought 21,770 Blu-Ray Disc players, up from 15,257
the previous week.
So Blue Ray seems to be the future standard for High-Definition. I
think that the inclusion of Blue Ray in Playstation 3 consoles was a
big factor of deciding the leading format.
