Breast Cancer Risk Raised With Drug Combo

Certain antidepressants when used by breast cancer survivors taking
tamoxifen may cause the disease to return.

Researchers examined medical records and selected:

1. 945 women taking the drug tamoxifen alone
2. 353 women taking tamoxifen plus antidepressants. These took the
combination for about a year.

Result: Breast cancer returned in 7% of women taking tamoxifen alone.
Breast cancer returned 14 % of women taking the combination.
