Mosquitoes To be Used To Produce Vaccine

A vaccine made of living malaria parasites is on the way to fight the disease.

Because malaria parasites are found in the insects' salivary glands,
scientists believe they can use the mosquitoes themselves to produce
this vaccine.

Malaria kills almost 1 million people worldwide every year, mainly in Africa.

Instead of just using nets and insecticide to control the disease,
mosquitoes will be collected and dissected to produce the vaccine.
